Our expectations

Work must be freely chosen and people must be able to leave employment in accordance with lawful contractual terms. Recruitment must not depend on coercion, withheld identity documents or unlawful fees charged to workers. Employment practices must respect applicable requirements on pay, working time, age and safe conditions.

Partners and supply chains

Our approach should be proportionate to risk. Before and during an engagement, relevant considerations include who is delivering the work, the use of subcontractors or recruitment intermediaries, the countries involved and any indicators of exploitation.

Where risks or credible concerns arise, a director should decide what checks, contractual safeguards, corrective action or changes to the relationship are needed. This is an expectation for responsible oversight, not a claim that every supplier has been independently audited.

Reporting concerns

Employees, contractors, clients and suppliers can raise a concern with a director or at engage@eqsolutions.co.uk. Do not put yourself or a person at risk by confronting a suspected exploiter. Immediate danger should be reported to the relevant emergency services.

We will consider concerns carefully, protect information as far as practicable and seek specialist advice or make appropriate reports where needed. Retaliation against someone raising an honest concern is unacceptable.

A voluntary commitment

This is a voluntary human rights and modern slavery policy. It is not presented as a signed annual statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and does not report unverified checks or results for a financial year.

We will review whether statutory reporting becomes applicable if the business or group structure changes. Clients may ask for further evidence under their own supplier requirements.
