Training & capability building

Knowledge that
stays with your team

Help people use their tools and practices with confidence. Our workshops and coaching connect concepts to the work teams actually do, with practical exercises and follow-up actions

The challenge we help you solve

Make learning relevant to the next working day

Training works better when people can apply it to a real task. We shape the session around the audience, their current capability and the work they need to carry out, then support the transition from learning to practice

Expertise shaped around your environment

Help people turn new tools and working practices into everyday capability. EQ Solutions designs practical workshops, coached exercises and knowledge transfer around the tasks your people need to carry out. Learning can support an implementation or stand on its own, with content adapted to the audience, their starting point and the environment available for practice. Topics, learning objectives, materials and follow-up support are agreed together

Our capabilities

The work behind
the result

Explore the workstreams we can bring into your engagement, from the first assessment through implementation and ownership

01

Learning needs and role pathways

Start with the work people need to perform, then tailor the learning to their role, current confidence and responsibilities

  • Identify the audience, existing knowledge and practical tasks that need support
  • Define observable learning objectives for each role or group
  • Separate introductory, practitioner and administrator needs where useful
  • Agree session format, accessibility needs and the environment for exercises
02

Atlassian tools and administration

Help teams use Jira and Confluence purposefully, connecting the configuration to the work and information people need to manage

  • Practise managing work through agreed issue types, fields, workflows and boards
  • Build useful searches, views and reporting around a real team question
  • Structure shared documentation and clarify responsibility for keeping it useful
  • Coach administrators on the agreed permissions, configuration and change practices
03

Planning and delivery practices

Support teams and leaders in using practical planning, collaboration and review habits, with a clear connection to their delivery context

  • Practise shaping outcomes, prioritising a backlog and making work ready for a team
  • Facilitate exercises in capacity, dependencies, blockers and delivery commitments
  • Use delivery evidence to discuss progress, predictability and improvement
  • Develop team agreements for reviews, retrospectives and decision ownership
04

Engineering and service reliability

Build confidence in engineering and operational practices through examples people can rehearse and relate to the services they own

  • Explore service measures and reliability objectives using an agreed example
  • Practise reading service signals and working through a response runbook
  • Walk through a build, test and release flow with its checks and responsibilities
  • Run a facilitated incident exercise and turn the findings into follow-up actions
05

Reporting and portfolio conversations

Help people use reporting to support a decision, with an understanding of what each measure covers and what needs further investigation

  • Practise connecting outcomes to portfolio, programme and team information
  • Review the definitions, source evidence and limitations behind selected measures
  • Use visual reporting to explore risks, capacity and the decisions needed next
  • Build a reporting playbook with owners, review questions and update responsibilities
06

Coaching and capability transfer

Support the move from a workshop to independent use through guided practice, reusable material and feedback on real working tasks

  • Pair with nominated practitioners on agreed tasks after the initial learning
  • Create concise playbooks, worked examples and exercises that the team can reuse
  • Support internal champions in explaining and demonstrating the agreed practices
  • Review learning evidence and barriers to use, then agree targeted follow-up actions

  1. A learning brief grounded in work

Agree the audience, practical objectives, prerequisites and exercise environment before finalising content and session arrangements

  2. Practice people can demonstrate

Use exercises and feedback to check whether participants can carry out the agreed tasks, recording questions and gaps that need further explanation

  3. A route into everyday use

Review playbooks, internal owners and the agreed follow-up actions so the team knows how to apply the learning and where to seek support

Questions about this service

More detail
before you decide

Bring your current environment, challenge and priorities to the first conversation

Discuss this service
Can the content use our own tools and ways of working?

Yes, subject to appropriate access and permission to use the material. We can adapt examples and exercises to your configuration and working context, or use agreed sample scenarios when a training environment is more suitable

Who is the training for?

Sessions can be shaped for team members, administrators, product and delivery roles, engineers or leaders. The learning brief identifies the audience and starting knowledge so the content has the right level of detail

Can training be delivered remotely or in person?

The format is agreed around the audience and learning objectives. Workshops, facilitated exercises, paired work and follow-up coaching can be planned in the format that supports the tasks and participation needed

Does the training include a certification?

The offer here is practical learning and capability building. Any accredited course, examination, formal qualification or certification would need to be specifically confirmed for the engagement

How do you assess whether the learning is useful?

We agree practical objectives and use exercises, participant feedback and any agreed follow-up review to assess progress. The emphasis is on whether people can apply the learning to their work, rather than attendance alone
