Atlassian implementations & migrations

A platform built
around your business

Implement and improve Jira, Confluence and Jira Service Management around the way your organisation works. From a new environment to a Data Centre to Cloud migration, we connect platform design, configuration, integrations and adoption

The challenge we help you solve

A platform implementation is a business change

Workflows, service ownership, access and integrations all shape how useful the platform becomes. We bring those decisions together with a clear delivery plan, including app assessment, rehearsal and cutover where migration is part of the scope

Expertise shaped around your environment

Make Jira, Confluence and Jira Service Management useful for the people who depend on them. An engagement can cover a new implementation, improvement of an existing environment, or a Data Center to Cloud migration. We agree the platform boundary, responsibilities and acceptance evidence before configuring or moving anything, then connect the technical work with adoption and operational ownership. The workstreams below are shaped around your priorities and the agreed scope.

01 / Assess

Understand the landscape

Start with the business reason for the move and the Jira and Confluence environments you have today. Bring the data, people, Marketplace apps and external connections into a shared inventory

What we bring into view
Environment inventory, app and integration register, owners and an agreed migration boundary
The decisions to resolve
What should move, improve or be retired, and which dependencies need a decision
People involved
Platform owners, business stakeholders, security and integration owners

02 / Prepare

Design the destination

Shape the Cloud configuration and migration approach around your organisation. Prepare user accounts, email and group decisions, agree app options and define the data and working scenarios to validate

What we bring into view
Destination design, source preparation, app decisions, migration waves and a validation plan
The decisions to resolve
Required features, access controls, source readiness and the responsibilities of each supplier
People involved
Platform administrators, identity teams, app vendors and data owners

03 / Rehearse

Test the move before cutover

Run a representative migration rehearsal using the appropriate Jira and Confluence migration tooling. Reconcile the selected content, configuration, access and app behaviour, then review the result with the teams who use it

What we bring into view
Rehearsal results, reconciliation checks, user acceptance feedback and an owned exception list
The decisions to resolve
Data differences, permissions, links, integrations and the work still needed before a readiness decision
People involved
Migration engineers, platform owners, integration owners and representative users

04 / Cutover

Make an informed readiness decision

Bring technical checks and business acceptance together before the production move. Use an agreed runbook for the change window, communications, migration steps and validation, with recovery arrangements and support responsibilities made explicit

What we bring into view
Readiness evidence, business and technical approvals, a cutover runbook and release validation
The decisions to resolve
Open risks, required approvals, recovery options and the criteria for proceeding or deferring
People involved
Business and technical decision owners, migration teams and operational support

05 / Adopt

Put ownership into everyday practice

Support people as they begin working in the Cloud environment. Connect role-based learning, support guidance and configuration records with named platform owners, then keep defects and improvement requests in a prioritised backlog

What we bring into view
Practical learning, administrator guidance, configuration records and an operational handover
The decisions to resolve
Who maintains the platform, how questions are handled and which improvements follow launch
People involved
Users, administrators, service owners and the teams taking ongoing responsibility

01

Discovery and platform decisions

Landscape Decisions Scope to agree Jira / Confluence Apps & integrations Teams & users Needs & priorities Dependencies Owners & controls Workstreams Acceptance Responsibilities Understand Resolve together Define the work
From platform landscape to agreed scopeConnect the current environment, user needs and delivery decisions before configuration begins

Understand how work moves through the organisation and what the platform needs to support. We review the current configuration, business processes and dependencies with platform owners and delivery teams, turning competing requests into a prioritised implementation or migration scope.

  • Inventory projects, spaces, service desks, apps and integration owners
  • Map user journeys, workflow needs and configuration pain points
  • Agree scope, dependencies, decision owners and acceptance criteria
02

Workflow and service configuration

Workflow Request intake Needs and context Service requests Triage Work Review Jira board Visible work Confluence Shared knowledge
A working route from request to deliveryDesign the route from request intake to delivery tracking and reusable knowledge

Design and configure the agreed working model across Jira, Confluence and service management. We connect workflow steps, fields, knowledge and reporting to practical team needs, with reusable patterns where they help and explicit exceptions where a service or team requires something different.

  • Design workflows, fields, screens and project configuration
  • Configure agreed request types, queues and service responsibilities
  • Validate boards, knowledge structures, automation and reporting with users
03

Identity, access and administration

Identity Accounts Provisioning Groups Membership Access rules Jira Project access Confluence Space access JSM Service access
Access shaped around people and rolesAgree account, group and permission responsibilities for Jira, Confluence and service management

Bring account, group and permission decisions into the platform design. For Cloud migration, this includes user and email readiness as well as the destination access model. We work with your identity and security owners on the controls and administrative responsibilities appropriate to the environment and subscriptions.

  • Review accounts, email domains, groups and permission dependencies
  • Define project, space, service and administrator access responsibilities
  • Assess identity provider, provisioning and access review requirements
04

Marketplace apps and integrations

Assess the app and its connections Cloud availability Feature fit Data migration path Vendor offering Hosting options Required features Access controls Export and import Reconcile records APIs Connected systems Events and data flows Identity Reporting Assess before choosing the route
Three questions for every appAssess Cloud availability, feature fit and the supported data migration path separately, then review APIs and the systems connected to each app

Assess the functions supplied by Marketplace apps and the systems connected to your platform. For a Cloud move, we check feature differences, supported app migration paths and any replacement or redesign decisions. Integration testing addresses the actual endpoints, identities and data relationships used by your organisation.

  • Compare required app features and review vendor migration guidance
  • Map APIs, automations, links and external system dependencies
  • Agree app decisions and test integration behaviour, including changed identifiers
05

Cloud rehearsal and controlled cutover

Rehearse, review and decide Data Center Source Jira Confluence Rehearsal Selected scope Reconcile Data checks Readiness review Decision and owners Atlassian Cloud Jira Confluence Review and resolve Data, access, apps and integrations Business and technical approval
Rehearse before the cutoverMove a representative scope through rehearsal and reconciliation, resolve findings, then review data, access, apps and integrations before business and technical approval

Where Data Center to Cloud migration is in scope, build a repeatable approach using the appropriate migration tools and checks. A representative rehearsal gives the business and technical owners evidence to review before a production decision, including unresolved exceptions and the actions required for cutover.

  • Define migration waves, data selection and readiness checks
  • Rehearse and reconcile data, configuration, access and app behaviour
  • Prepare the cutover runbook, recovery arrangements and readiness decision

Evidence and acceptance

Clear checkpoints
before the next step

Review what has been delivered, the decisions still needed and who will own the result

  1. A scoped assessment

An environment, app and integration register with business priorities, dependencies, assumptions and owners. This establishes what is included and what still needs a decision.

  2. An agreed platform design

A configuration and access design covering the agreed workflows, service patterns, app choices and integrations, with review points for platform owners and affected teams.

  3. Testing and rehearsal evidence

Results from agreed configuration tests, integration checks and user scenarios. Where migration is included, this also records rehearsal reconciliation, exceptions and the actions needed before cutover.

  4. A readiness decision pack

An evidence-based view of prerequisites, open risks, acceptance decisions and responsibilities, supported by a launch or cutover runbook. Named business and technical owners make the release decision.

  5. An operational handover

Configuration records, administration guidance, learning materials and support responsibilities, alongside a prioritised backlog for remaining improvements and agreed post-launch support.

Questions about this service

More detail
before you decide

Bring your current environment, challenge and priorities to the first conversation

Discuss this service
Can you help with an implementation that does not involve migration?

Yes. The engagement can focus on a new Cloud environment or improvements to an existing Jira, Confluence or Jira Service Management setup. We agree the workflows, service needs, access model and adoption work required. Rehearsal and cutover activities are added where moving data or changing an existing service is in scope.

Will our Data Center apps work the same way in Cloud?

That needs to be checked app by app. Cloud availability does not establish feature parity or a supported data migration path. We assess the functions you use, review vendor guidance and identify testing, replacement or redesign decisions before including an app in the migration plan.

How do you decide what data and configuration should move?

We agree the business scope and assess the migration method for the actual source and destination. Projects, spaces, users, configuration and app data have different dependencies and tool support. The plan records what will move, what will be recreated or retired, and how the agreed result will be checked.

How are access and existing integrations handled?

We review accounts, groups, permissions and identity requirements with your administrators and security owners. Integrations are assessed with their system owners, including authentication, endpoints and changed identifiers. Any access or connection is configured through the permissions and approvals agreed for the engagement.

What makes a platform ready for launch or migration cutover?

Readiness is judged against the acceptance criteria agreed with your business and technical owners. The evidence can include representative user tests, data reconciliation, app and integration checks, open defects, recovery arrangements and support readiness. The responsible owners make the launch decision with the remaining risks visible.
